Welcome to the Gamma Alpha chapter House Home Page
The Gamma Alpha chapter of Delta Gamma is proud to be participating in the Sorority Village at Morgan Hill planning process.Although many chapter members live in comfortably furnished apartments in Laurel Hall and hold their meetings in a beautifully decorated suite in the Panhellenic Affairs building, the members of the Gamma Alpha chapter of Delta Gamma have been anxiously anticipating the day when they will have a wonderfully furnished home to call their own.
History
During the early 1990's, an Exploratory Committee was formed to evaluate the
concept of alternative housing for the Panhellenic women at the University of
Tennessee. After numerous years of thoughtful investigation and analysis, the
final decision was made to build the University of Tennessee's Sorority Village
on Morgan Hill. Morgan Hill is named for Harcourt Morgan, UT's 13th president
and founding director of UT's Agricultural Experiment Station, who also once
lived on the property. The University of Tennessee and the Panhellenic women broke ground on the first houses in an official ceremony held on May 1, 2011.
